Monsieur Marcel co-founders Stephane and Katy Strouk and new partner, Emile Malka celebrated the opening at 447 North Canon Drive with a party benefiting UNICEF. Since 1993, the Strouks have been dedicated to bringing the French bistro experience, as well as personally traveling throughout Europe to bring imported and domestic artisanal food, to Los Angeles epicures. This marks their third Southern California site.
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Feb. 6, 2013 From caviar to charcuterie, glorious breads, cheese plates, desserts and beyond, Monsieur Marcel's gourmet market is stocked with 250 types of cheese, 350 kinds of wine, along with a dramatic assortment of meats, olives, marmalades, mustards and sauces. The 7000 square foot Canon Drive location features an expansive serving bar with a selection of freshly made sandwiches, salads and hot entrees, easily packaged for convenient take-home or enjoyed while perched at one of the on-premise high-tops.
To savor the total Monsieur Marcel experience, the full-service restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily from 9 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. An array of traditional French dishes including soups, salads, crepes, quiches and sandwiches gives rise to classic entrees including boeuf bourguignon and coq au vin while mousse au chocolat and tarte tatin are favorites on the dessert menu. Wines of international origin as well as Monsieur Marcel's private label, can be purchased by the glass or bottle. Custom designed gift baskets are welcome additions to any special occasion.
