About the Fall Exhibitions
Clearly Compelling: Glass Art from Tiffany to Chihuly
September 19 - December 6, 2015
Brilliant, fragile, and fluid in form, glass has been highly prized throughout history. Celebrating the evolution of glass art from the humble origins of craftsmen who produced utilitarian forms in the Murano tradition to the emergence of the studio glass artist, this exhibition seeks to capture the spirit of experimentation that has defined glass art. Visitors will experience glass transformed into art through the works of more than 50 artists including Frederick Carder, Harvey K. Littleton, Marvin Lipofsky, Dale Chihuly, Lino Tagliapietra, William Morris, Paul Stankard, and Toots Zynsky.
