Mortenson Construction Awarded Major Renovation Project at Kansas State University
Bill Snyder Family Stadium to Receive Approximately $75M in Upgrades
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Mortenson Construction, a leading builder of sports facilities in the U.S., and joint-venture partner GE Johnson Construction, a national full-service construction company headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo., have been awarded the Bill Snyder Family Stadium renovation project on the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan, Kan. The renovation is expected to begin in the summer of 2012 and be completed in time for the football season in the fall of 2013.
The renovated stadium will enhance the game-day experience for Kansas State Fans through a series of enhancements including: a new student-athlete dining hall and commissary; a "Hall of Honor" within a wide main concourse; improved concession and restroom facilities; customer-friendly ticket office and a new team store; a unique "Tailgate Terrace" for Ahearn Fund members to enjoy pre-game, at half-time and post-game; a University lounge & event space for game day entertainment and year-round events; upgraded media, a broadcast and operations level providing enhanced television and technology capacities; and multiple premium seating opportunities including approximately 40 private suites, 36 loge boxes and 800 club seats.
