"We are very excited to receive this certification as it exemplifies our diligence and shows that MPC is a strong leader in the asset disposition industry," says MPC's Director of Compliance, Theresa J. Bauer, EHSS. "By investing time and energy into our processes and policies for certifications like e-Stewards, our customers have assurance that we are handling their material properly."
Setting MPC apart from others in the industry, the e-Stewards certification serves as recognition of compliance to strict operational standards including proper health and safety processes, no land-filling of toxic wastes, and the protection of data-sensitive materials. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) supports both the e-Stewards certification and the Responsible Recyclers (R2) certification, which MPC received in 2010.
"By achieving e-Stewards Certification, MPC joins an elite group of recyclers that have successfully completed rigorous independent audits to verify conformance with the highest standard for responsible e-recycling", said Jim Puckett, BAN's Executive Director. "Only Certified e-Stewards Recyclers ensure customers that their hazardous electronic waste is not exported to developing countries and will be recycled in accordance with the most secure practices in the world."
MPC's Chief Business Development Officer, Todd Schachtman, adds that this is just one of many examples of how MPC will go to great lengths to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction. "As always, we want to ensure that MPC is doing the very best for its customers and for the environment. By taking the steps we have to become a certified asset disposition company, new and current customers can be confident that their assets are, every time, being handled in a secure, environmentally responsible way."
