Mrs. Green's Natural Market Plans Spring Celebration in Chicago

CHICAGO, March 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mrs. Green's Natural Market (www.mrsgreens.com) will be hosting a spring celebration event Thursday, March 27, from 6-8:30 p.m. in the Chicago store located at 555 West Webster Ave. This free public event will include food samplings, live music and a special area for children's activities. The in-store festivities will be complemented with special pricing on hundreds of items including Mrs. Green's 100 percent organic produce.

To celebrate spring's arrival, Mrs. Green's will be donating five percent of in-store proceeds from March 27 through April 3, up to $10,000, to the Lincoln Public School "Eat What You Grow" Garden Club.

"We want to celebrate the greener times ahead by inviting the community to join with us for a spring celebration," CEO Robin S. Michel said. "The senses of renewal and freshness that people associate with spring serves as a great metaphor for the types of products and fresh produce that we offer. Following the long winter that Chicago has endured, this is a perfect opportunity for the community to gather together and enjoy fresh delicious food, local music and community spirit as we welcome in the new season with Mrs. Green's."

The celebration will continue with special events throughout the weekend. Field Trip Factory will host a free introduction for teachers and educators to the new Think Global, Eat Local educational program on Friday at 4 p.m. On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mrs. Green's staff will host a children's activity called "Eat the Rainbow," which will teach children about the value of eating a variety of nutritious foods.

Mrs. Green's opened in Lincoln Park last November, and they are currently working to expand their presence in the area by adding additional stores.
