TORONTO, June 3, 2015 /CNW/ -The excellence of CPA Magazine, the flagship publication of Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada), was recognized last night at the 61st annual Kenneth R. Wilson Awards.
CPA Magazine was the evening's big winner collecting three Gold awards, including one for Best Issue, three Silver awards and 14 honourable mentions. The awards program honours excellence in business-to-business magazine publishing.
"The recognition is greatly respected and appreciated by the entire CPA Magazine team," said publisher, Nicholas Cheung, who also is vice-president, member services with CPA Canada. "The awards reinforce the insightful and creative work that goes into developing the outstanding content of each and every issue."
CPA Magazine received the following awards:
- Gold for Best Issue: The Money Issue (May 2014)
- Gold for Best Merchandising or Marketing Article: Mass Appeal (Lisa van de Geyn)
- Gold for Best Profile of Person: Ready, Willing and Abel? (John Lorinc)
- Silver for Best Profile of a Person: Goal Oriented (Paul Brent)
- Silver for Best Illustration: Workplace: Bully at Work (Diane Peters)
- Silver for Best One-Of-A-Kind-Article: When Business is Personal (Mary Teresa Bitti)
"Expertise, innovation and business acumen are integrated into all aspects of our magazine," said Okey Chigbo, editor, CPA Magazine. "The awards are a prime example of how we provide thought provoking and entertaining material to our members and the wider business community."
The core audience for CPA Magazine is Canada's accounting profession but it also appeals to a much broader business-oriented audience. CPA Magazine is published 10 times a year with a circulation of more than 190,000 per issue.
CPA Magazine was first published in 2014 with Canada's accounting profession uniting under the Chartered Professional Accountant banner. The magazine brought together the award-winning publications of the profession's legacy designations.
