Musca Law Brings on Attorney of 20 Years Criminal Law Experience to Anchor Its East Coast Office
Florida law firm adds Attorney Lourdes Gonzalez to defend clients charged with crimes in the Tri-County Area (Miami Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County)
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 14, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Musca Law announces that Florida defense attorney Lourdes (Lori) Gonzalez has joined the firm and will lead its Broward County office in defending the accused in the Tri-County area. Gonzalez has more than 20 years experience as a criminal attorney and an extensive background in both private and public sector practice.
She joins Musca Law as an aggressive defense lawyer handling both misdemeanor and felony cases, and serving as a multilingual attorney fluent in English, Spanish and French. She brings an impressive resume to the table with more than 2,000 cases handled on behalf of clients in the Public Defender's Office, as well as several years working for well-regarded private law firms on the East Coast.
As a young attorney, Gonzalez worked on many cases under the tutelage of famous defense lawyers such as Roy Black and Albert Krieger, the attorney who defended John Gotti. She worked with these attorneys on complex criminal matters, such as serious drug trafficking cases and other felonies. She credits Black and Krieger with teaching her how to focus on the key points in defending a case, and showing her how relentless hard work can make a difference in its outcome.
"I learned from them the skills of being a good defense attorney and how to find weaknesses in the prosecutor's case, and the most important strengths in defending a case," said Gonzalez.
She often obtains the dismissal of charges or victorious trial results for her clients, but only after performing a full evaluation of all the facts and circumstances and devising a specific strategy unique to each particular case.
"Everyone has a right to a good defense," said Gonzalez. "We have one of the last bastions of freedom, this republic and this system that we have. It's not perfect, but more often than not, it does work."
The desire to fight for human rights and civil rights runs in her family. Both her father and grandfather were lawyers and worked hard at defending the rights of the underdog.
Gonzalez holds a law degree from Nova University's Shepherd Broad Law School. She spent several years running her own company, Case In Focus, which advised other lawyers on the critical tactics of jury selection and how to handle and focus their cases.
