"My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Album Released Today on Back Lot Music

LOS ANGELES, March 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Back Lot Music released the soundtrack album for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, the long-awaited follow-up to the highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time, it was announced today. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack includes new music by Emmy Award-nominated composer Christopher Lennertz, as well as songs featured in the new comedy. The soundtrack, which launches on the same day that the film hits theaters, provides the perfect companion piece to the biggest, Greekest wedding this decade.

About writing the score for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, Lennertz said, "I come from a big Italian family on my mom's side, so this felt familiar to me. I loved being able to continue this story that so many people loved from the first film and take it even further in a more emotional direction with [Toula and Ian's] daughter. I used a lot of traditional Greek instruments in non-traditional ways to give a subconscious feeling to the ethnic influence."

About the Film

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 is the highly anticipated follow-up to the highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time. Audiences worldwide embraced the immensely relatable characters, seeing their own families reflected in the adorably brash and bold Portokalos clan members.

Written by Academy Award^® nominee Nia Vardalos, who stars alongside the entire returning cast, the film reveals a Portokalos family secret that will bring the beloved characters back together for an even Bigger, Fatter and Greeker wedding.

The film is directed by Kirk Jones (Nanny McPhee, Waking Ned Devine) and once again produced by Gary Goetzman, Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks.

Paul Brooks and Steven Shareshian return to executive produce alongside Scott Niemeyer and Vardalos. Universal Pictures will distribute the comedy domestically and in select international territories.
