As one of 21 world-renowned, multi-disciplinary faculty speakers, Dr. Szlyk will be presenting two lectures addressing topics related to regional anesthesia and bundled payment programs. During this presentation, Dr. Szlyk will highlight the benefits of opioid-sparing regional anesthesia techniques including peripheral nerve blocks and spinal anesthesia in optimal care pathways for total knee and hip replacement patients.
January 22 - "Implementing New Clinical Models (ERAS/PSH)" Track
Choosing the Right Metrics – Was the Program Successful?
During this presentation, Dr. Szlyk will discuss how to evaluate the progress of a bundled payments program, what parameters have the biggest impact on success and offer strategies on how to salvage an unsuccessful program.
Dr. Szlyk has served as a clinical instructor in regional anesthesia at Stanford University Hospital in Stanford, CA. She is an accomplished lecturer and educator specializing in ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks and catheters with specialization in pain management modalities for joint replacement, sports medicine, general and cosmetic surgery. She is board-certified in anesthesiology and an active member of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
