National Education Initiative is Catalyst for Education 'Silicon Valley' in Baltimore - Washington Corridor

WASHINGTON, Sept. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- National Education Initiative (NEI) and its signature November 10-13 event National Education Week (NEW) will leverage the combination of innovative education companies, the federal and regional government, education associations and a rapidly growing venture fund and private equity community to underscore the Baltimore – Washington Corridor as the "Silicon Valley" of education.

Founded by Bethesda business leader and philanthropist, Devin Schain, NEI hosts a year-round series of events, webinars and networking opportunities designed to restore the effectiveness and competitiveness of the U.S. education system. National Education Week will take place November 10 – 13 in Washington DC at venues such as the Ronald Reagan building, the National Press Club, and 1776. The program will convene the most influential educators, entrepreneurs, policymakers and thought leaders to address critical issues in U.S. education and improve the nation's education system at all levels.

National Education Week is the only summit that brings together education, government and business thought leaders in our nation's capital, the focal point of education policy and dialogue. Over 4,000 participants are expected to attend NEW events throughout the week. Monday, November 10th will celebrate the work of educators. In honor of Veteran's Day and the 70^th anniversary of the GI Bill, Tuesday, November 11th will focus on veterans education, hiring best practices for veterans, and successful military to civilian transitions. Tuesday will also feature a job fair, hosted by RecruitMilitary. 

On Wednesday, November 12th and Thursday, November 13th, National Education Week features its preeminent Thought Leader Summit, an exclusive forum and networking event.
