What is "Responsible" in Today's Fiscal Reality?
WASHINGTON, Sept. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Thursday, September 12th, 2013, National Journal will host the "Fiscal Fallout: What is "Responsible" in Today's Fiscal Reality?" Policy Summit. A weak economy paired with high levels of government spending has put America on an unsustainable fiscal trajectory. The U.S. is already starting to see effects evident in our weakening dollar, lack of foreign investors, and slowed wage growth; most economists agree that the implications of our growing debt are dire. With one of the most ideologically polarized Congresses of all time in office, can Washington come to a consensus on controlling the nation's growing $16.7 trillion debt?
This program will convene members of Congress and other experts to examine what is being done to solve the long-term debt problem.
The event will be held at The Newseum, 3rd Floor Knight Broadcast Studio (555 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.) from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. It will also be available via live stream at http://www.nationaljournal.com/events. Follow along or join the conversation with the Twitter hashtag #FiscalFallout.
The event is hosted by National Journal and is underwritten by Public Notice. To RSVP, please visit: http://njfiscalfallout.eventbrite.com/.
