National Museum of Hip Hop is Issued a Public 'Non-Support or Participation' from The Cold Crush Brothers and Hip Hop Pioneers for the Tuesday April 6, 2010 Immortal Event!
Easy AD and the Cold Crush Brother's Publicly Disclaim the Use of their Name and Likeness by NMOHH!
NEW YORK, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Pursuant to a recent press release issued by the National Museum of Hip-Hop, a fundraiser entitled, "Immortal: National Museum of Hip-Hop Launch Event," will be held in New York City on Tuesday, April 6, 2010. The event's promotional materials list a number of Hip-Hop pioneers and other Hip-Hop luminaries as invited guests.
Be advised that contrary to the press release and guest list; the event will not be attended by the members of the Legendary Cold Crush Brothers (LCCB), 'the Amin-Ra of Hip-Hop,' Afrika Bambaataa and the Zulu Nation, and Doug E. Fresh. The above-mentioned pioneers were not contacted by the National Museum of Hip-Hop to secure authorization to use their names in any "Promotion of the fundraising event!" The 'Amin-Ra of Hip-Hop,' Afrika Bambaataa, was erroneously listed as a "Co-Sponsor" of the event.
Furthermore, "Video Clips" posted on the web site suggests that DJ Tony Tone supports the museum's event. DJ Tony Tone did not authorize the use of the video to promote the fundraiser.
The Legendary Cold Crush Brothers, Easy AD, Grandmaster Caz, Kay Gee, Tony Tone, JDL, Charlie Chase, and LCCB photographer Joey Conzo, along with the Amin-Ra of Hip-Hop, Afrika Bambaataa and the Zulu Nation, and Doug E. Fresh, disavow the inclusion of their names as invited guests at the event.
The afore-mentioned artists, along with the illustrious 'Father of Hip-Hop,' Kool Herc, Pebblee Poo of Master Don and the Death Committee, Pop Master Fabel (Rock Steady Crew), Christie Z-Pabon, co-founder of Tools of War, DJ Johnny Juice of the Public Enemy Camp, and Yoda & the Crash Crew, would like to advise their "Fans and Supporters" that they will not attend the event. Yoda is the vice president of the Universal Preservation of Hip-Hop Culture.
The dissenting artists respectfully embrace the work and legacy of their fellow pioneers while objecting to being portrayed as supporters of an event without their consent.
