National Plan a Vacation Week Highlights Why Savvy Travelers Use Travel Agents
MILWAUKEE, Jan. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Vacations. They create positive lasting memories and are designed to recharge our internal batteries. But too often the stress around planning and traveling can do just the opposite, with travelers spending countless hours researching and Internet surfing to find the best deal for their vacation. But what happens when the vacation you buy online doesn't live up to your expectations? Who do you call? If you used a travel professional, they would be able to make it right.
Savvy travelers know that vacations planned using travel agents offer better experiences and customer satisfaction. Travelers can soon take advantage of National Plan a Vacation Week, a virtual vacation planning event highlighting the value of working with travel agents, scheduled for March 18-24, 2012.
Right now National Plan a Vacation Week is looking for travelers to share how their travel agent made a difference in providing lasting vacation memories. National Plan a Vacation Week has launched a grassroots awareness campaign on Facebook called I love my Travel Agent because ... where travelers can submit stories about how their travel agent has improved their vacation experience. Daily stories and reasons to use a travel agent are being shared online with love from many happy customers. The campaign has generated increased activity and awareness of the event as well as provided travelers ideas for their next vacation and the opportunity to contact their favorite travel agents.
During Vacation Week (March 18-24) Travelers can visit http://www.planavacationweek.com to view hundreds of special offers from featured suppliers on travel agent micro-sites. Travelers can contact their travel agent or be matched to an agent who meets their needs based on experience, vacation criteria and zip code. Whether you need a quick getaway to Las Vegas, a family vacation to Cancun, a honeymoon in Hawaii, a cruise or a once-in-a-lifetime tour of Europe, National Plan a Vacation Week will help travelers turn their vacation dreams into lasting memories.
"VAX VacationAccess is pleased to offer this one-of-a-kind event that brings consumers and agents together to highlight the value of using a travel agent," said Kathy Fitzpatrick, president of VAX VacationAccess. "We are an advocate for travel agents and look forward to another successful event in 2012."
There are still five days left to participate in the "I love my Travel Agent" campaign. Travelers should visit http://www.facebook.com/nationalplanavacationweek and submit their story about how their agent has made a difference in their vacation experiences.
