National Press Club to host "NEWSMAKER" briefing on New Report to Detail the Costs of the Financial Crisis
WASHINGTON, Sept. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Better Markets, Inc., a Washington, D.C. based nonprofit organization that promotes the public interest in the U.S. and global financial markets will release a new report detailing the costs of the financial crisis at a National Press Club Newsmaker press conference at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 13, 2012, National Press Building, 529 14th St., NW, Washington, D.C.

Dennis M. Kelleher , president and chief executive officer of Better Markets, Inc., will present the report's findings which detail the cost of the financial crisis as measured in lost wealth due to unemployment, stock market losses and housing value declines, reduced GDP, government bailouts and economic hardship, among other things. Mr. Kelleher is a political and financial affairs expert with three decades of experience in the public, private, political, charitable and non-profit sectors. He is a former senior leadership staffer in the U.S. Senate and a former partner at the international law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
The report's release coincides with the fourth anniversary of the September 15, 2008 bankruptcy filing of financial services firm Lehman Brothers, the largest bankruptcy filing in U.S. history.
