The MOU establishes a mutually beneficial formal partnership between the three organizations, and respective members, to work toward the advancement of Native Hawaiian business and economic development for Native communities.

In addition to business development, the three organizations plan to make joint visits to local and national political representatives to educate policy makers on the importance of small business development for Native Hawaiian communities.

"Together we represent the communities that have given so much to who we are as individuals and who we are as a People," said NACA Executive Director Kevin Allis. "In standing with our friends at NHOA and NHCC, we work toward a stronger future for all Native communities."

The MOU signing was part of an entire week devoted to Native Hawaiian outreach by NACA Staff. The week included meetings with local agencies, trainings, and NACA members and constituents. On Wednesday, February 19, there was a co-hosted reception by NACA and the Center for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA) that was attended by Retired U.S. Senator Daniel K. Akaka (D-HI), U.S. Senator Maize Hirono (D-HI), and U.S. Representative Colleen Hanabusa (D-HI). Also in attendance was the Office of Hawaiian Affairs Chief Advocate Kawika Riley.
