SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- "Sometimes we need more than just another vacation, we need Inspiration," according to Melanie Grant. Like Grant, many people are seeking something more when they go take a vacation or travel. Fortunately, wellness travel and spiritual retreats and tours that give people what they seek are taking off. According to a recent survey by Harris Interactive, 8 out of every 10 Americans say that they are more stressed than ever. Beyond the serious health consequences of being stressed is the simple truth that people have less time to discover what is important to them. "I just felt like there was something missing in my life," says Grant. "I work so hard. Then when I have free time- I wonder what I'm doing with my life."
Grant joined a Nature Quest® to ancient Orkney Scotland. Nature Quest ® provides participants with empowering inner and outer journeys and spiritual retreats. Nature Quest® was founded by Catriona MacGregor and offers tours to in California, Scotland, and Hawaii where participants benefit from receiving guidance that helps them find their life's purpose, while exploring nature. Catriona (Gaelic for Catherine) MacGregor is a spiritual teacher who helps people find greater meaning in their own lives. She founded Nature Quest® over a decade ago, and leads Vision Quests, Nature Tours and Spiritual Retreats. "A Nature Quest is perfect for someone that wants to connect deeply with nature, and is ready for a spiritual journey that can lead to discovering what is most important in your life," according to MacGregor.
The group spent time hiking, bird watching, and doing a "solo" in nature. They visited ancient archeological sites with whimsical names like the Ring of Brodgar and the Stones of Stenness. These ancient stone circles are thousands of years older than the Pyramids and Stonehenge. According to MacGregor, "Orkney is known as the 'Egypt of the North' and it presents archeological marvels found nowhere else. These lands are close to my heart because this is where my ancient ancestors are from."
Grant was able to do more then take a few quick snapshots and be loaded back into a bus. She spent time "soaking" in the Neolithic landscape. They meditated next to the stone monuments, and later conducted a past life journey. "The experience was literally a life changer for me," said Grant. "The trip was crucial in figuring out how I want to live the rest of my life." Macgregor says that Grant's experience is typical of the people who come on Nature Quests. "When participants commune with the powerful energy of the land, they connect with the wisdom of a timeless realm."
MacGregor is the award winning author of "Partnering with Nature: The Wild Path to Reconnecting with the Earth, which won a Gold Medal from the Nautilus Book Awards. Previous winners include His Holiness The Dalai Lama, Deepak Chopra, and Thich Nhat Hanh. According to Shirley MacLaine, "I highly recommend 'Partnering with Nature'. The insight (Catriona) shares is something we can all benefit from."
