WASHINGTON, Feb. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Association of Women's Business Owners (NAWBO) will bring its annual National Women's Business Conference to Minneapolis from October 15 – 17. The 2017 event will feature keynote Elizabeth Gilbert, Author of Eat, Pray, Love and most recently, Big Magic. As well as a keynote by Gayle Lemmon, senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and the author of the New York Times bestsellers Ashley's War: The Untold Story of a Team of Women Soldiers on the Special Ops Battlefield; and The Dressmaker of Khair Khana, the story of a young entrepreneur who supported her community under the Taliban.
The theme of this year's conference is "Together We Dare."
"Women business owners are naturally 'daring' individuals," said Teresa Meares, NAWBO National Board Chair. "We each took a huge leap in starting our businesses, and we continue to dare every day—to break boundaries, push limits, change the status quo, work together, attempt the unexpected, be authentic and create our magic. We see opportunities where others see obstacles."
Nearly one thousand women business owners from across the country are expected to attend the conference to be inspired and motivated to obtain the tools and advice they need to start and grow their businesses. The conference will offer break-out sessions designed to help business owners scale and grow their businesses and allow for networking opportunities.
"Women-owned businesses make a significant contribution to our economy," said Kathy Warnick, NAWBO National Chair-Elect, whose home chapter Columbus, Ohio hosted last year's Conference. "NAWBO was founded 42 years ago to serve as an advocacy organization for all women business owners. We are proud to continue that legacy and to ensure that women business owners have a voice at the decision-making tables."
