Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic's Event Spotlights Community Involvement
Dee Crawford To Be Honored
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio, July 26, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Youngstown's own Dee Crawford, Community Affairs Director for WKBN-TV and Fox Youngstown, will be honored at the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic's Hope Has A Home Celebration set for Sept. 18 at Avion on the Water in Canfield. This year's NKRC event also will feature guest speakers from SOLACE (Surviving Our Loss And Continuing Everyday), a grassroots Ohio group organized through the Drug Free Action Alliance.
Ms. Crawford, known widely for hosting "Sunday Morning With Dee," which airs on WKBN-TV, has an extensive career in community involvement. She formerly was employed by the Mahoning County Department of Human Services, Youngstown United Way and Youngstown State University.
"While we have wonderful support from so many community leaders in the Mahoning Valley, Dee has been a long-time champion of NKRC in her many roles. She has unfailingly made sure our message of hope through the journey to recovery reaches all our local residents," Jerry Carter, NKRC Executive Director, explained.
In addition, the founding members of SOLACE will bring their message of support and advocacy to those who have experienced loss of a friend or loved one due to prescription-drug abuse.
SOLACE also will explain how chapters can be launched locally.
An Ohio subsidiary of Gateway Rehab, the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic (NKRC), was founded in 1946 in Youngstown. NKRC also has facilities in Austintown, Howland and Dublin to assist people in recovery from substance abuse.
