BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., March 28, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The British American Business Council Los Angeles will present Neil Stiles, President of Variety, Inc., for a breakfast reception on Thursday, April 7th. British Consul-General Dame Barbara Hay will provide opening remarks.
Stiles will speak about the trials and tribulations of the publishing world and what other digitizing industries could learn.
Born in Great Britain, Stiles has spent more than thirty years in the magazine industry and oversees the global business operations of the Variety franchise including Variety, Daily Variety, Daily Variety Gotham and Variety.com. Additionally, he supervises market-leading publications 411 Publishing, Tradeshow Week and Video Business and manages MarketCast, the leading provider of marketing research for the global entertainment industry.
Before joining Variety in 2008, Stiles served as Division Managing Director and Chief Revenue Officer of Reed Business Information-UK, where he supervised numerous online initiatives and handled the portfolios of dozens of products including Personnel Today, Hairdressers Journal, Travel Weekly, Commercial Motor, Motor Transport, Truck and Driver and Utility Week.
Stiles was elected to the Board of British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles and is a member of the Boards of LA's BEST and BritWeek.
