Nemours Foundation Names Brian Anderson as Chairman of the Board
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Aug. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nemours Foundation Board of Directors today announced the election of Brian P. Anderson as its Chairman, effective immediately. Anderson has served on the Nemours Foundation Board since 2006 and succeeds John S. Lord, who is stepping down as Chairman after eight years in the role. Lord will remain on the Board.
"It is with great confidence and enthusiasm that I pass the mantle of leadership to Brian Anderson," said Lord. "He has impressed the entire Nemours organization with an insightful and practical brand of leadership, and offers truly unique perspectives from his vast experiences at world-class organizations both inside and outside of health care."
Anderson served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Baxter International from 1997 to 2004. He joined Baxter in 1991 as Vice President, Corporate Audit. He became Corporate Controller in 1993 and then Vice President, Finance in 1997. Before joining Baxter, Anderson spent 15 years with Deloitte & Touche in Chicago and Washington, D.C. Mr. Anderson's education includes a BS in Accounting from Howard University and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Indiana University. He currently serves on the boards of A.M. Castle & Co., W.W. Grainger, Pulte Homes, and James Hardie Industries. He resides in Davie, Fla.
"On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank John Lord for his extraordinary leadership and tireless devotion to the Children and Families of Nemours over the past 21 years," said Anderson. "Nemours owes John a great debt for his leadership, not the least of which includes presiding over the recently opened new patient towers in Wilmington, Del., and Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando. His passion for service to our communities and deeply held concern for the well-being of others, especially children, mirror the sentiments of Nemours' benefactor, Alfred I. duPont."
