NetShelter Technology Wins Internet Advertising Competition Award
- inPowered™ ad honored as best online campaign for small business for Dell and Intel SMB -
SAN FRANCISCO, April 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- NetShelter Technology Media, the largest "influencer network" of technology blogs on the Web, with more than 4,500 independent bloggers reaching 150 million global readers(1), today announced that it has been named a winner in the small business category for the Web Marketing Association's 2012 Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) for its work on the Dell and Intel SMB campaign. The campaign was developed with MediaCom using NetShelter's inPowered™ platform, which leverages influential stories from independent tech bloggers as the centerpiece of new online ads that focus on influencing consumers' brand perception and buying behavior through the consumption and amplification of earned media in contrast to standard display ads that highlight brand messages.
According to the winning IAC entry, "The Dell/Intel SMB campaign was designed to build awareness and shape perception through influential content. This approach featured the integration and distribution of influential content, which was comprised of articles and videos that were consumed and shared at high rates across social media vehicles, as well as Dell/Intel owned brand assets, such as whitepapers. In addition to positive standard metric performance, this campaign performed very well against a more stringent set of NetShelter metrics specific to measuring the influence of the campaign. We saw over a 64% increase in engagement with content relevant to the product/campaign versus before the campaign launched."
The IAC Awards highlight the best online advertising in 86 industries and nine online formats including, online ad, video, mobile, newsletter, email and social media. The 10th Annual IAC Awards are produced by the Web Marketing Association to honor excellence in online advertising and showcase the best in award winning Internet advertising. The awards are the first and only industry-based advertising award competition dedicated exclusively to online advertising. The complete list of winners can be found at www.IACAward.org.
In 2011, NetShelter won two IAC Awards for "Outstanding Online Campaign" for its work on the LG Optimus S Influential Stories campaign and "Best Retail Online Campaign" for its RadioShack Gift Guide campaign.
Unlike traditional display ads, inPowered ads curate influential stories about brands as part of the ad itself, measure the consumption and social amplification of that content across more than 30 social signals (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reditt, Google+, blog comments, and more), and correlate that information to determine and increase a brand's share of influence across nearly 50 purchase categories (e.g. tablets, smart TVs, smart phones, cloud computing, security, etc.).
