FARMINGTON, Conn., Sept. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CliniSanitas Medical Centers and ConnectiCare have formed a strategic alliance to offer an innovative, multicultural, health care delivery model for the people of Connecticut; particularly the growing Hispanic population. CliniSanitas Medical Centers are part of a leading multinational health business group operating in Florida and several South American countries.
Beginning in late November, ConnectiCare members will have access to three new CliniSanitas Medical Centers in Connecticut. The new medical centers will be located in Newington, Bridgeport and Orange and will offer primary care, specialty care, urgent care, walk-in care, laboratory and diagnostic imaging services, as well as health education and wellness services. All will offer extended evening and weekend hours and the staff will speak both English and Spanish. ConnectiCare is the only health insurance plan being accepted by the CliniSanitas Medical Centers, which will also serve those paying directly for health care services.
As Connecticut's population grows and diversifies, it is essential that the delivery of health care address the cultural differences present so all citizens get the care they need. To improve access to quality care, the CliniSanitas patient experience will be 100 percent bilingual, starting with the medical team and support staff, educational materials, the patient portal and disease and wellness outreach programs. To foster a strong and long-lasting doctor-patient relationship, the appointment intervals are scheduled so doctors can spend more time with their patients.
"Health care is very personal and having a good relationship with your doctor is essential. Members want to discuss their health and receive care in their preferred language, at times and locations that are convenient for them. CliniSanitas has a proven track record of successfully serving a diverse population through an integrated care model and we are pleased to partner with them to make this kind of care a reality for ConnectiCare members," said Michael Wise, ConnectiCare's President and Chief Executive Officer.
"We're excited to partner with a leading health care company like ConnectiCare to bring our proven model of patient-centered care to Connecticut. These new medical centers will build on our successful centers in Miami, Florida, and more than 40 years of experience providing quality care in South America," said Dr. Fernando Fonseca, Chief Executive Officer of CliniSanitas. "We have designed our patient experience to serve the diverse needs of the Connecticut community and address cultural and language barriers that impact the quality of care they receive."
"We commend ConnectiCare for making strides in meeting the diverse needs of their health exchange clients," said Governor Dannel Malloy. "ConnectiCare has been a valuable partner in the effort to build a healthier state and a better marketplace for us all."
ConnectiCare is a leading health plan in the state of Connecticut. ConnectiCare's mission is to make it easy for members to get the care they need. A local company for 35 years, ConnectiCare has a full range of products and services for businesses, municipalities, individuals and those who are Medicare-eligible.
