New data shows OK homeowners paying highest insurance premiums in the country
WILMINGTON, N.C., April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In a report released today by HomeownersInsurance.com, Oklahoma ranked as the most expensive state to insure a home. The report shows that homeowners in the state are paying $1,564, on average, for homeowners insurance. The data is based on the average policy premium sold by HomeownersInsurance.com in Q1 2014. Oklahoma premiums increased less than 1% from the fourth quarter of 2013.
The second highest premiums were recorded in Kansas, where according to the report homeowners are paying an average of $1,144/year to insure a home.
