New Law Firm Created to Serve Financial Services Industry

WASHINGTON, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Today a new law firm, Murphy & McGonigle, P.C., announced that it has opened for business in New York, Washington, D.C. and Richmond, Virginia.  The firm represents public companies and their officers and directors as well as financial services companies in high-stakes litigation and governmental investigations and enforcement proceedings.

The firm's SEC Enforcement Group, based in Washington, D.C., boasts a depth of experience unique for a firm of its size.  Six of Murphy & McGonigle's partners served in the SEC's Division of Enforcement, some in senior management positions, including a former Associate Director, an Assistant Director and three Branch Chiefs.  The Group has represented numerous Fortune 500 companies, their officers and directors and auditors in SEC investigations, enforcement proceedings and white-collar criminal prosecutions.  In the financial services industry, the Group represents banks, securities broker/dealers, investment advisors, hedge funds, mortgage companies, credit card companies and their employees in investigations initiated by the SEC, self-regulatory organizations and state Attorneys General.
