New Matter Awards Over $200,000 In MOD-t 3D Printers and Supplies To Schools Across America
New Matter Selects 100 Schools as Recipients of Its Educate and Inspire Grants
PASADENA, Calif., March 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, New Matter (www.newmatter.com), announces the recipients of its Educate and Inspire Grant program. New Matter received over 450 applications from 45 states and the District of Columbia, and will donate more than $200,000 in MOD-t 3D printers and supplies to the winning 100 educational institutions.
"We were overwhelmed by the quality of applications we received," says Steve Schell, CEO of New Matter. "The caliber of our applicants is a testament to the potential that innovative teachers see in 3D printing. We're excited to build a community of passionate and imaginative educators who can now use the MOD-t to inspire their students."
Created with learning in mind, the MOD-t is ideal for classroom use. It's easy to use and one of the most affordable desktop 3D printers available today. Every aspect of the MOD-t's design makes it classroom and library-friendly. It's designed to operate quietly, connect with WiFi, and auto-calibrate, so educators can focus their attention on teaching, not configuring.
"We strongly believe that 3D printing will cultivate a lifelong love of STEM subjects in students, and we are incredibly proud to participate in that experience," continues Schell. "3D design fosters creativity in young learners and the MOD-t is the tool that brings students' imaginations to life. We will continue to work with educators to ensure that they are getting all the resources they need to integrate the MOD-t into the classroom."
New Matter grant recipients will each receive three MOD-t 3D printers, 15 spools of 1kg filament, and 15 additional print surface plates. The complete list of winners can be found in the below list or on the New Matter blog here: Educate and Inspire Winners Announced!
