New "Meditate and Mediate" Course Pairs Conflict Resolution Tactics with Development of Inner Skills
Course Offers Unique Approach to Resolving Conflicts and Inspiring Change
NOVATO, Calif., Oct. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Academy of Inner Science founder Thomas Hübl and negotiator William Ury, co-founder of Harvard's Program on Negotiation and co-author of the 15-million-copy bestseller Getting to Yes, jointly announce their upcoming online course called Meditate and Mediate, which examines the connections between world events and our inner experiences.
The impetus for the course, according to Hübl and Ury, was the desire to provide insightful perspectives on the intensely polarized conflicts proliferating across the world's political and social spectrums and in our personal lives, while offering practical ways to stem those raging tides of conflict. These troubled times, they propose, require creative solutions that will come only from a focused development of inner maturity and greater wisdom that will represent an evolutionary step for mankind on both the individual and the global level.
The Meditate and Mediate course, which begins on October 28, 2017, is designed to help activists, mediators, business leaders, and engaged citizens cultivate the talents required to make a difference in the world and to avoid burnout while managing challenging environments.
Commenting on the course, Hübl said, "We are responsible for the world that we are building. We are its social architects—cultural architects. A better cultural architecture will only come with the development of inner maturity and by fostering compassion for humanity. This new course aims to help people become mature citizens able to build a strong foundation for effective action and healing."
Ury added, "To me, this course is an enormous opportunity to explore how a community of people can can serve as agents of change, drawing on the inner sciences as well as the outer sciences of persuasion, and in the end come together as a human community."
