New National Program by Community Clearinghouse Agency Helps Struggling Families Make Ends Meet
LANCASTER, Pa., Dec. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 47 million Americans face economic hardship and have a hard time struggling to make ends meet. Community Clearinghouse Agency Inc. is seeking volunteers in every state to distribute free community awareness fliers for the new 'Family Assistance Program' to help families get the things they need. Fliers can be mailed or handed out to businesses, friends, neighbors, relatives, workmates and people they know. Anyone that responds will be helped to post what they need and what they have to offer to help others. For nationwide awareness of the new family program, some 1,000,000 fliers will be distributed.
An additional feature of the Family Assistance Program is that families can request funds to pay for small household needs up to $500. Funding requests can be used for Medications, Doctor Bills, Medical Equipment, Auto Repair, Prescriptions, Insurance Premiums and some Personal Needs. Amounts that can be requested range from $50 to $500 and granted based on need, urgency and funds available. Dale, Vega, executive director, said, "When someone receives funding, we ask, if possible, that they give a portion back to help others and keep the program going. Of course there are no guarantees; we can only depend on public support to fund the program. The more funds we can raise, the more people we can help, and we request that everyone participate."
Vega said, "We serve some 500 families annually in Lancaster County. The need is much greater across the country; families need help. As income continues to dwindle, people need this new service." To increase services nationally, the plan is to distribute 1,000,000 fliers in virtually each major city in every state of the country. Thousands of people are expected to respond either with a need or to become a sponsor; donations are accepted and used as unrestricted funds to help families.
CCA (www.donatecca.com) is a volunteer based 501(c)(3) social service helping Abused Women, Seniors, Veterans and Families in need in Lancaster County since 1995. The agency wants to increase community services to help more people by expanding across the country. CCA anticipates that thousands across the nation will inquire by requesting an application.
For a free application and information how to volunteer, post a need, offer something to help others or request funding is available by mail only. The agency asks that you help with costs by sending a self addressed stamped envelope to CCA P.O. Box 8361 Lancaster, Pa. 17604-8361. Everyone is invited to become a sponsor of the new service by sending a donation of their choice or by visiting CCA at www.donatecca.com. All sponsorships, gifts and donations are tax deductible; tax receipts provided upon request.
