New Nespresso Boutique Bar Brings Premium Coffee Experience To San Francisco's Famed Union Square Neighborhood
Nespresso Expands in the U.S. With Sights Set West
NEW YORK, Dec. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Nespresso, the worldwide pioneer and reference in premium, portioned coffee, announces the opening of its first West Coast Boutique Bar in one of the nation's top culinary markets, San Francisco. The contemporary 7,400 square foot, two floor space is located in Union Square, San Francisco's cultural epicenter regarded for luxury shopping, fine dining, famed art galleries, chic hotels and more. The new location is the first of many West Coast Boutiques Nespresso plans to roll out as its East Coast Flagships thrive in New York, Miami and Boston.

The San Francisco opening is the fifth Nespresso Boutique in the U.S. joining New York, Miami, and Boston. A sixth Boutique is slated to open in Fall of 2013 in Los Angeles. The San Francisco Boutique Bar is the latest indication of the brand's continued domestic growth and its commitment to growing its West Coast presence – anticipated to bring more than 300 new jobs to California over the next three years. In 2013, Nespresso will continue to expand partnerships with select fine retailers and more than 250 specialty housewares stores across the U.S. and grow its global retail network to more than 270 Boutiques worldwide.
The San Francisco Boutique Bar, located at 90 Grant Avenue, is a space both warm and modern and emblematic of the San Francisco lifestyle. Customers can explore a premium quality coffee experience, savor a light menu of primarily locally sourced sweet and savory fare, and relax in the state-of-the-art space. Key highlights include:
The Boutique Bar: Serving the premium 16 Grand Cru coffees, espresso and espresso-based beverages, as well as a light breakfast, lunch and dinner menu of primarily locally sourced sweet and savory fare. Club Members can also drop off used Grand Cru capsules for recycling at the Boutique Bar.
The Discovery Ring: Offering guests the opportunity to discover all aspects of the brand and its products: from the wide choice of unique Nespresso machines, to the latest collection of purposefully-designed accessories, all in a dynamic yet relaxing and warm atmosphere. The space also allows for private tutorial sessions with Boutique Specialists and experts.
The N Pad Bar: Features a large high top table with iPads available for guests to use, loaded with information on the brand and interesting facts.
Self Selection Room: Dedicated to Club Members who are already familiar with the brand and who are looking for a shopping experience at their own pace. A self-check-out automatically scans the contents of the Club Member's bag upon swiping their Nespresso Club Members N Pass Card and charges their account. A Boutique Specialist is always available to answer questions and to offer advice. The San Francisco Boutique Bar is the only Nespresso shop in the U.S. with this special area.
The Boutique Bar was designed by Italian architect Aldo Parisotto and Futurebrand Paris. The interior lounge furniture includes iconic mid-century designs from Fritz Hansen including the Egg chair and Favh sofa; Flos Arco floor light; and Cappellini Sunset chair. Nespresso is pursuing LEED Gold certification of the Boutique Bar, which will include a number of sustainable features throughout.
