New Recovery.gov Feature Allows for Improved Visualization of Recipient Data
WASHINGTON, June 16, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Recovery Board Chairman Earl E. Devaney says a new feature being launched today on Recovery.gov will allow users to create and customize charts and graphs that will make it easier to follow stimulus funds of most interest to them.

Smartronix, Inc., the prime contractor on Recovery.gov, worked with the Recovery Board to develop the visualization feature, which is called Recovery Explorer.
Devaney said that users of Recovery.gov will be able to build their own charts and graphs for spending and jobs at the state, congressional, county and city levels. There are 15 categories that can be displayed including "Funds Awarded," "Funds Received," "Number of Jobs,'' "Number of Awards," "Fiscal Quarter and Year,'' and "Awarding Agency.''
"This remarkable new feature allows you to chart data submitted by recipients of Recovery funds in ways that are most important to you,'' Devaney said. "Recovery Explorer is easy to navigate. If you want to change what is being displayed on a graph or chart, all you have to do is change the category and a new graph or chart with the information you want will be displayed.''
Recovery Explorer is expected to be available within the next month as free iPhone and iPad apps that can be downloaded at the Apple iTunes App Store.
The new feature is the latest enhancement made available by the Board so that users can get easier access to information on contracts, grants and loans awarded under the $787 billion Recovery program.
