New Small Business Accelerator in San Antonio With Sights Set to Help Local Businesses Reach Peak Performance
Small Business Accelerator SA was founded by Brooke R. Envick, Ph.D. in January. Envick taught entrepreneurship, small business growth, innovation, leadership, and management at St. Mary's University for over 19 years at the undergraduate and graduate level. She left her endowed position as the Paul C. Goelz Entrepreneurship Chair in December of 2015 to pursue this business along with a coffee shop called Warehouse 5 Perks. One of Envick's main goals is to support the Westside Development Corp.

In addition to Dr. Envick's teaching experience, she has 15 years of business consulting and entrepreneurship experience. She was featured in Entrepreneur magazine and the Texas Economy Magazine. Dr. Envick has also published more than 25 peer-reviewed journal articles, several workbooks, and a textbook on entrepreneurship. She served as the Chair of the Forum on Entrepreneurship Breakfast Series, with 250-300 in attendance at each one. She grew the net profit from year one from $500 to $25,000 in the last five years. All proceeds were allocated to student scholarships. Envick received the Outstanding Educator Award for Creative & Innovative Teaching from the Academy of Educational Leadership. Dr. Envick's style of teaching is practical, interactive, and fun. She also served as a member of Leadership San Antonio in 2012. The coffee shop she opened, Warehouse 5 Perks, is at the same location.
