New Study from Microban® Finds Millennial Parents' Biggest Worry is Money
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C., May 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- For millennial parents, being financially secure for their families is weighing heavily on their minds. In a new study from Microban®, 64 percent of millennials surveyed cited finances and money as the number one worry in their life. In addition, 92 percent of the millennial parents surveyed agreed that being financially secure was a worry spot for themselves and their family.
While being financially secure was the number one money worry, the online survey of more than 1,000 U.S. millennial parents also uncovered additional financial concerns, including having the ability to provide what they or their family wants and/or needs and job stability as other areas of anxiety for millennial parents.
But money isn't just a worry, many millennial parents wish their financial position was different than it currently is. Fifty-six percent said financial security, including having more money, a better job or a job that pays better and a new house or place to live, were things they wish they could change.
Also on the minds of millennial parents? Not having enough time to do the things they want to do. In fact, 75 percent of participants agreed with that statement, citing they would prefer more time with their family, friends, spouse or partner and nine percent wished they didn't have to work so much.
Time for things like hobbies, exercise and home improvement projects were reoccurring themes while the participants also noted that busy schedules keep them from doing the things they want. When extra time is discovered, many millennial parents find their homes taking a back seat to the things above, with 74 percent agreeing they are worried about keeping a clean house.

Survey Methodology
Microban®, in conjunction with Turner Research Network, surveyed 1,039 Millennials age 20 to 35 with at least one child age 13 or under living at home online. A total of 1,039 millennials completed the survey. The survey was available from February 14, 2017 through February 17, 2017.
