New Study Reveals 83% of Prescription Eyeglass Wearers Are In the Wrong Frame Size
Atelier Eyewear's survey results provide further insight into this issue of poorly fitting eyewear.
LONDON and NEW YORK, Oct. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- A new study conducted amongst prescription eyeglass wearers in the UK and USA by Atelier Eyewear (www.ateliereyewear.com), the leader in custom made glasses and sunglasses, proves that more than eight out of ten people are wearing poorly fitting glasses frames.

To complete the Atelier survey, the company conducted eyewear fittings amongst visitors* to the company's website using their unique UltraTool™ proprietary measurement software that delivers highly accurate 3D scans of facial and cranial features online.
Other key findings from the study include:
- Six out of every ten eyewear users are wearing a frame that has a bridge that is too tight
- More than half (65 percent) of all eyewear users are wearing glasses in which the frame is too wide
- 71% of glasses wearers are wearing a frame where the temples (arms) are too short.
"Finding eyewear that fits can be a real challenge," according to Tim de Rosen, the Atelier CEO.
De Rosen went on to say: "People sometimes choose a certain style and base their decision on the style rather than the fit. That's not the best decision for them in the long term because comfort and fit are by far and away the most important aspects to consider when buying eyewear."
About Atelier
Atelier Eyewear was established as an independent brand in 2013 in order to provide eyewear consumers with a choice of frame sizes and customization options in response to the domination of the global eyewear industry by large conglomerates such as Luxottica Group SpA.
Known for its custom "made-to-measure" prescription optical and sunglasses, Atelier is the acknowledged leader for the best fitting and most comfortable eyewear available online.
Their frames are all hand made in Atelier's own workshop by master craftsmen and are fully customizable in 30 colors and a variety of Carl Zeiss sun and optical lenses.
Atelier frames also come personalized with customers' names or initials engraved inside the right temple (arm).
With prices starting at $325 (£245) including ultra high-index optical lenses, Atelier's custom made glasses and sunglasses are a truly affordable luxury when compared to similarly priced "off the shelf" premium eyewear.
