HOUSTON, Nov. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- BBVA Compass today announced improvements to its award-winning mobile banking app, including Apple Touch ID integration for a quicker, more secure login process.
The BBVA Compass Mobile Banking app has become a standard-bearer, underscoring the bank's drive to stay in front of the digital transformation sweeping the industry. It was named Best Mobile App by Money magazine in October and is a two-time winner of Javelin Strategy & Research's Mobile Banking Leader in Functionality Award.
The most recent slate of enhancements, together with the redesign and updates from release 4.1 in July, is designed to give users a best-in-class experience. In addition to Apple Touch ID, the 4.2 version adds the ability to view full routing and account numbers and see a running balance with each posted transaction.

"We've launched a suite of enhancements over the last few months to stay ahead of their expectations, and biometric authentication will no doubt lead to even better overall interactions with users."
BBVA Compass Mobile Banking 4.2 enhancements include:
- Touch ID
Clients with an iPhone 5S or later can log into the BBVA Compass Mobile Banking app using just their fingerprints, giving them a faster, more secure and easier login process without the need for a passcode.
- View routing and account numbers
Clients can access routing and account information by swiping left on the account details section of the mobile app. This helps them with setting up direct deposits and payments for an external source or auto draft.
- Running balance
Each posted transaction will now include a running balance on the transaction details screen, making it easier for clients to track balances.
July's BBVA Compass Mobile Banking 4.1 enhancements included:
- Account unlocking
Clients can unlock their accounts and reset security questions without calling customer service.
- Simplified deposit limits
The mobile app now displays a client's 30 consecutive calendar day deposit limit, along with how much can be deposited before the limit is reached. Per check limits have been eliminated.
- PDF statement viewing
Clients can now view deposit account statements in PDF form on the BBVA Compass Mobile Banking app. This functionality was previously only available in Online Banking.
- Expedited payment in Mobile Bill Pay
Clients can select "earliest date" and the mobile app will choose the best option, either "same-day" or "overnight." Same-day payments will be sent electronically to the payee. Overnight payments are when a paper check is sent overnight to the payee. "Earliest Date" option will be shown only if the payee supports that option. A $19 fee will be applied if "earliest date" is selected.
- Pay BBVA Compass credit card with external account
Clients can link an external deposit account to their BBVA Compass Online Banking profile to pay their BBVA Compass credit card. The card can be paid through the BBVA Compass Mobile Banking app.
