New Vision Renewable Energy Launches Kickstarter Campaign to Bring Ray of Life, Whole Room Solar Light Solutions, to Production
PHILIPPI, W.Va., Oct. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- New Vision's solar lights have been lighting up the night in 32 countries in the developing world since 2011. However, educators and community organizers asked for a more finessed product that allows them to house all of the components in one portable case. New Vision's Director of Technology and Innovation, John Prusa, went to work with the help of 3M™ scientists to do just that.
"We worked with 3M to develop a strong housing unit and went the extra mile to make the lights brighter by placing 33 LED lights on 3M™ Solar Mirror Film, one of the brightest reflecting surfaces made, making Ray of Life one of the most dependable solar lights on the market," said Prusa.
Ruston Seaman, President and CEO, stated, "Not only did we come up with one of the brightest whole room solar lights to be used in developing countries, we are now making Ray of Life available to consumers to use in their own emergency preparedness kit. By reaching our Kickstarter goal, we can finally go into production and help bring light to the 1.2 billion people still living in darkness around the world."
Energy Issues Are Global
"Our campaign is also offering our supporters an opportunity to donate lights to others and help light a home, school, or even an orphanage. There are very few times in life where people have the opportunity to make a huge impact with lasting results for generations to come," said Seaman proudly.
Other donor rewards include handmade bracelets from women conquering poverty and adversity, limited edition T-shirts printed by former at-risk youth and young adults in our mentoring network, and hand-signed photos from our renowned world photographer.
Donors interested in being one of a few people in the world to own a custom designed light and make a difference can visit the Ray of Life Kickstarter page.
New Vision is a nonprofit launched in 2009 as a grassroots, faith-based community development organization working to help communities in the U.S. and around the world implement renewable energy solutions, specifically solar lighting.
