NEW YORK, June 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CEO of Scientific Herbal Advances (SHA) Dr. Ramesh Sawhney says, "Science has led the group to New York's Black Dirt Region." SHA's strategic plan for their indoor grow facility included regional proximity to their dispensaries. For Scientific Herbal Advances it is more than the geographic proximity that lead them Goshen.
"This part of New York known as the Black Dirt Region holds some of the most fertile and anti-bacterial, anti-fungal soil in the world. It is federally protected and there is only 26,000 acres in existence, our science and agricultural team believe it will enhance our brand dedicated to epilepsy," said Sawhney. "While searching for the perfect property, we looked at state property such as jails and old state buildings and even greenhouses but once we opened our eyes to benefits of the black dirt our decision was obvious."
New York's Black Dirt region is home to this unique soil. Black Dirt's organic matter consists primarily of decomposing plant material. From 60 to 90 percent of that material is made up of water, and the remainder is a mixture of chemical components that are important nutrients for plants. Those nutrients include carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, sulfur, potassium, nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium and magnesium. It is the sulfur content that makes the crop impervious to bacteria and fungus. Studies have shown that flowers will produce higher output during the vegetative stage.
The farmers around Goshen swear by the Black Dirt when it comes to onions, radishes and sod. Many of the locals refer to it as "Black Gold".
"The black dirt is unique to New York and we are real New York doctors who have dedicated over 30 years of our lives to helping New York patients," added Sawhney.
