New York Sports Clubs Partners with New York Cares for "Work Out to Help Out" Initiative Thanksgiving Fundraiser Proceeds to Benefit Local Tri-State Rebuilding Efforts Post- Hurricane Sandy
NEW YORK, Nov. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to provide relief to the more than 30,000 people left homeless in Sandy's wake and help rebuilding efforts across the tri-state region, the New York Sports Clubs (NYSC) is partnering with New York Cares – the city's largest volunteer organization – to launch the "Work Out to Help Out" fundraiser this Thanksgiving weekend.
As part of the "Work Out to Help Out" initiative, NYSC will donate 100 percent of total sales of a special-offer three day, $20.00 guest pass (normally $25.00 for one day), along with a portion of the new member initiation fee, directly to New York Cares' Hurricane Sandy rebuilding efforts. In addition, select clubs will accept coat donations and provide information on local volunteer opportunities on behalf of the charity.
"With over 160 clubs along the east coast, New York Sports Clubs felt firsthand the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy within our community," said Bob Giardina, CEO of Town Sports International. "While opening our clubs to the public in the weeks following the storm provided immediate relief for some, we partnered with New York Cares in recognition of the staggering long term need for support in rebuilding lives in Sandy's wake."
Starting November 19, "Work Out to Help Out" guest passes - valid from November 23rd through November 25th - are available for purchase at local clubs or online at www.MySportsClubs.com.
