The sixth book in Force's Fatal Series, Fatal Mistake follows an investigation by D.C. Police detective Lt. Sam Holland into the murder of the star centerfielder for the Washington Federals –a murder that happened after the player committed a critical error that cost the Federals a spot in the World Series. As Holland's investigation takes her in unexpected directions, her husband, U.S. Senator Nick Cappuano, is fighting for his political life in the final days of his re-election campaign.
"When I first began writing this series that features the same couple in every book, I worried that I'd get tired of writing about Sam and Nick. However, the opposite has been true," said Marie Force. "They become more interesting to me with every new book, especially in Fatal Mistake as their family expands to include an adopted 12-year-old son."
Marie Force is an award-winning author who has drawn inspiration for two of her series from her home state of Rhode Island – the McCarthys of Gansett Island and the Treading Water Series. She has also authored the Fatal Series set in Washington, D.C. as well as seven stand-alone books. On Valentine's Day 2014 Force will release "All you Need Is Love," Book 1 in her new Green Mountain Series, set in Vermont.
