"The NEWH Regional Tradeshow offers both exhibitors and attendees the face-to-face contact which is so important. In addition, since the booths are six-by-six, the shows are small and intimate and attendees are able to see numerous amount of product and samples in one day," says Jena Seibel, tradeshow/marketing manager, NEWH, Inc.
Kicking off the tradeshow is the Hospitality Design (HD)/NEWH Owners' Roundtable, from 10:30-11:55 a.m., which is designed to connect designers, architects, and purchasers with influential executives in hospitality. In HD's version of speed dating, table "hosts" from various hotel, management, and equity companies—from Accor and Omni to Remington and FelCor—will discuss the industry, new projects, and answer attendee questions, on a rotating basis. Confirmed participants include Bruce Burkhalter, Benchmark Hospitality International; Monty Bennett, Ashford Hospitality Trust-Remington Hotel Corporation; Robert Carl, FelCor Lodging; Rod Stewart, Marriott; Laura McKoy, Omni Hotels; Juan Morales, Magnolia Hotels; Don Hansen, Accor North America; and Jerry Luker, Accor Hotels. (Tickets for the roundtable are open to area architects, interior designers, and purchasers on a pre-registered basis, until sold out.)
Says Bill Langmade, president of Purchasing Management International, who is organizing the roundtable: "The valuable addition of the HD/NEWH Owners' Roundtable to the Regional Tradeshow allows NEWH members access to major hospitality decision makers in our region to learn about new design trends, market trends, and where these companies are taking design in their hotels."
To further entice attendees to attend the tradeshow, there are two $500 door prizes, a complimentary lunch from Noon-1:00 p.m., and a cocktail party with hors d'oeuvres and cash bar from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
