In 2012 SAP was ranked similarly for both TMS and WMS.
In ARC's annual "Transportation Management Systems Market Study," SAP was ranked No. 1 in several categories. This report includes TMS market share estimates and projections for 2012-2017 for the overall software, services, maintenance, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and managed service categories broken by geography, industry and customer segment. SAP was named No. 1 in 13 categories overall, including:
- No. 1 market share transportation management systems total revenue
- No. 1 market share by software revenue
- No. 1 in fleet management sector

- No. 1 in Asia
- No. 1 travel and logistics non-asset based
According to the report: "2012 was a breakout year for SAP. SAP is now the leading provider of TMS to non-asset-based logistics service providers (LSPs) and the second largest supplier to asset-based LSPs."
In ARC's annual "Warehouse Management Systems Market Study," SAP was ranked No. 1 for software revenues. The overall market is estimated including services. Highlights of SAP's position for WMS include:
