Newseum to Offer Free Admission to Members of the Military on Veterans Day
WASHINGTON, Nov. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This Veterans Day, the Newseum once again will offer free admission to active and retired members of the United States military. On Monday, Nov. 12, members of the military and a guest are invited to visit the Newseum free of charge as the country pauses to reflect on their service.
Veterans will be able to experience the HP New Media Gallery, which blends the latest in digital technology with the Newseum's critically acclaimed multimedia expertise to place visitors at the center of the news revolution. "Every Four Years: Presidential Campaigns and the Press" explores how media coverage of presidential campaigns has evolved from William McKinley 's 1896 front-porch campaign to Barack Obama 's 2008 Internet campaign, and "The Eyes of History 2012" features dramatic, award-winning images and video from the annual White House News Photographers Association photo contest. Popular ongoing attractions include the film "I-Witness: A 4-D Time-Travel Adventure," the NBC News Interactive Newsroom, the Pulitzer Prize Photographs Gallery and the Berlin Wall Gallery.
To take advantage of this offer, service members should present military ID, another form of military service credential, or wear their uniforms. Tickets will be available only at the Newseum admission desk on Nov. 12, and cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts. For more information, visit newseum.org.
