NEW YORK, Aug. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- NewYork.com today announces the launch of its "New York Moment" editorial video series, debuting with an initial five videos that share the personal stories of celebrities, artists, photographers and residents. In the videos, each New Yorker, ranging from a taxi driver to some of the most famous names today, reflects on a favorite personal "New York moment", with their perspective of the city as a backdrop. The result is a dynamic series that is as diverse as the city they each call home.
"We created the series as a way to share the passion and love that every New Yorker feels about living and working in New York," said Laura Michonski who helped to initiate the series for NewYork.com. "New York can be demanding, fast paced and overwhelming but it's also magical, unique and inspiring. Every person has his or her own reason for loving this city. We are trying to capture New York's emotional appeal on film and share it with other New Yorkers and people throughout the world."
The "New York Moment" series thus far includes a total of 15 videos, five of which premiere today. The first follows artist Jorge Colombo, who creates cover art for The New Yorker using his iPad. The video shows Colombo creating a picture of the New York City skyline in real time. Another video features taxi-driver-turned-photographer David Bradford, who constantly carries a camera with him as he shuttles passengers from location to location. To him, New York is "the greatest stage on earth." The Bacon Brothers (Kevin and Michael) explain why New York is the "center of the universe" to them and an inspiration for their music. Other videos in the series include "Tony Pots and Pans," aka Tony Macaroni, a street musician, Dodgers' fan George Heney, and singer/songwriter Roberta Flack.
NewYork.com invites everyone to share their own "New York Moment" via social media with the hashtags #MyNYMoment and #WeLoveThisCity.
