SALT LAKE CITY, April 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Nexia Holdings, Inc.'s (http://www.nexiaholdings.com) (PINKSHEETS: NXHD) film division is proud to announce that The Kane Files has been accepted into the Newport Beach Film Festival that will run from April 28 to May 5, 2011, Newport Beach Film Festival Website.  This makes The Kane Files 1 of 150 selections out of 700 submissions.  The film will screen during the festival's 12th annual exhibition with an expected attendance of over 50,000.  This honor could lead to more marketing opportunities with the buyers and distributors that are expected to be in attendance and expand the potential for distribution of the film into more markets.

The movie The Kane Files was shot entirely in the State of Utah as the first feature film production of Nexia's film and entertainment division.  The film was written and directed by Ben Gourley and stars Drew Fuller (winner of the Best Actor Award at the 2010 San Diego Film Festival), Ethan Embry, William Atherton, and William Devane.  The film tells the story of Scott Kane, a man with a checkered past. When his son falls ill and treatment seems out of reach, Kane finds his only option is to turn to Daniel Morgan, the local kingpin of the criminal underworld.  When Morgan sends Kane on a mission, the desperate father finds himself double-crossed.  With the FBI and Police hot on his trail, Kane must utilize all his deadly skills to save his family and himself before time runs out.
