MATAWAN, N.J., July 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the successful clean-up at nearby Cheesequake State Park last month, iCIMS, Inc., a leading provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) talent acquisition software solutions for growing businesses, continued its environmental efforts with a company-wide beach sweep at New Jersey's famous Sandy Hook Beach and National Park. This second clean-up of the year is part of iCIMS' iGIVE Back program which encourages employees to donate a day of work towards servicing the local community.

The Sandy Hook clean-up saw more than 30 employees eagerly assist Clean Ocean Action, a leading environmental coalition, picking up trash and debris left by tourist along the seven-mile stretch of beach. Since 2006, iCIMS has made it their mission to help the local Sandy Hook community preserve its more than 300 species of migratory birds and holly forestry. Since then, employees have taken part in many annual clean-ups along the beach. And in times of crisis, they pitched in with not only their time, but money too.
"Right after Hurricane Sandy, iCIMS' staff came together and collected more than $40,000 in just 30 days for the RAINE Foundation to help Hurricane Sandy victims," said iCIMS Chief Corporate Development Officer, Ron Kasner, "Sandy Hook is part of our local community so we are proud to do our part to help protect its historic beaches for the local wildlife and future generations."
iCIMS' iGIVE Back corporate responsibility program encourages employees to volunteer up to two work days each year, with full pay, to participate in company-wide events like park cleanups and beach sweeps. In addition to volunteer programs, iCIMS offers employees opportunities to get involved with various environmental charities like 3Degrees, RAINE Foundation, and Earth Share of New Jersey. The company even takes it a step further, encouraging their vendors to engage in paperless billing and customers to take advantage of paperless processes when using iCIMS Talent Platform software.
"iCIMS has a strong company culture centered not only on passion, drive, and success but giving back. It's an important part of who we are," said iCIMS CEO, Colin Day, "Through our local environmental clean-ups and paperless processes we are doing our part to not only be successful but responsible for helping preserve our planet."
The company recently published an extensive whitepaper, How Sustainability Affects Your Employment Brand, outlining challenges HR professionals face when implementing green initiatives, offering proposed solutions, and highlighting the benefits of creating an eco-friendly candidate management process.
