SEATTLE, Dec. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) announced today plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at the Plaza at Jordan Creek in West Des Moines, Iowa. The approximately 35,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open in fall 2014. The Plaza at Jordan Creek is being co-developed by Hurd Real Estate Services, Inc. and Signature Real Estate Services, Inc.
Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc., offering customers a wide selection of on-trend apparel, accessories and shoes at an everyday savings of 30-70 percent off regular prices. The Rack carries merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com and specially-purchased items from many of the top brands sold at Nordstrom. The Rack is designed to provide the ultimate treasure hunt to style-savvy customers.
Though Nordstrom has operated a 628,560-square-foot fulfillment center in Cedar Rapids since 1997, Nordstrom Rack will be the company's first retail location in Iowa.

The new-build store will join Dick's Sporting Goods, Lowe's and an expanding list of retailers filling out the Plaza at Jordan Creek. The growing development is adjacent to Jordan Creek Town Center, which is home to a strong mix of fashion retailers including J. Crew, Brooks Brothers, Gap and Old Navy.
