Massage is an evidence-based, safe and effective way to provide tactile stimulation to encourage a child's healthy growth, through the use of a developmentally appropriate activity.
"Healthy children may experience a variety of behavioral and developmental improvements when they receive regular massage from their parents or caregivers," says Allen. "Normal affectionate touching is important, however, a regular routine of massage therapy can promote more integrated physiological, neurological and psychological development."
During this special event, families learn about the many benefits of children's massage, including effective methods to:
- relieve stress and anxiety for the whole family
- help children sleep better
- promote healthy growth and development
- ease common childhood discomforts
- incorporate developmental adaptations and storytelling into massage time
The FREE family massage class will be held Saturday, June 13th from 11am to 12pm in the Community Classroom of the American Massage Conference at the Tinley Park Convention Center.
During Allen's cutting edge sessions, audiences can expect to be captivated by her engaging approach to sharing pediatric massage therapy. She will discuss her groundbreaking approach to using pediatric massage in a variety of settings including healthcare and professional private practice. In addition to the Family Massage Class, she will present several specialized lectures and breakout workshops including; "Pediatric Touch Therapy for Common Childhood Discomforts" and "Why Add Pediatric Massage to your Practice."
Tina will be available for questions and book signings for a short time following the Family Massage Class.
