NSPS Appoints Michael Voce to Direct DOE Protective Force Contract U.S. Army Veteran and Nuclear Security Expert will Oversee NSPS Oak Ridge Operations
OAK RIDGE, Tenn., Sept. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- National Strategic Protective Services, LLC (NSPS), a joint venture of Triple Canopy, Inc. and Securiguard, Inc., is pleased to announce that Michael Voce will take over as general manager of its protective force services contract at the Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge, Tenn. facilities effective Oct. 1, 2013.
NSPS is responsible for providing protective force services to the East Tennessee Technology Park, the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the Joe L. Evins Federal Building. As general manager, Voce will direct the safe and efficient performance of the protective work force and oversee NSPS operations. He will also ensure a smooth change of command by spending the next few weeks working in coordination with outgoing general manager, Greg McDowell.
According to NSPS President Ignacio Balderas, "Mike's business acumen and extensive nuclear security experience combined with his effective leadership skills and deep understanding of labor relations makes him a perfect fit for this critical position."
"I am honored to join NSPS and look forward to leading this vital security contract," Voce said. "NSPS has established a solid reputation as a reliable DOE partner. I look forward to growing this relationship with the customer, continuing to build a dedicated protective force and strengthening the NSPS bond with the Oak Ridge community."
Voce brings a well-rounded, nuclear security management background to the position of general manager. Before joining NSPS, Voce took on the challenging role of president in May 2012 at Protection Strategies Incorporated. He was directly responsible for successfully changing the executive management culture during his tenure at this 500-person, global security management firm. Prior to his appointment as president, Voce held the position of program manager of Health, Safety and Security Technical Support Services, providing direct oversight of a multimillion dollar contract supporting DOE and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
His previous experience includes working for more than 12 years as the director of training and the director of protective force operations in support of the NNSA at the Nevada Site Office (NSO). Voce was also employed by NNSA/NSO as the emergency management program coordinator as well as a protective force supervisor and trainer.
A retired U.S. Army veteran with more than 20 years of military police service, Voce earned a master's degree in educational and instructional technology from National University as well as a bachelor's degree in human services and criminal justice from Wayland Baptist University.
