NVTC Celebrates the Region's Top Financial Visionaries at the 2025 Technology CFO Awards Gala

More than 600 industry leaders gather to honor exceptional finance talent driving tech innovation and growth

McLEAN, Va., June 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), the region's premier trade association for the tech industry, proudly announced the winners of the 2025 Technology CFO Awards during its gala celebration last night. Now in its 29th year, this annual event recognizes the outstanding CFOs and finance executives whose leadership fuels innovation, strategic growth, and economic impact across the National Capital Region.

Among the evening's most meaningful moments was the presentation of the Michael G. Devine Hall of Fame Award to its very own visionary namesake, Michael G. Devine, in recognition of his extraordinary legacy and service to the tech finance community. Nearly 30 years ago, Devine conceived the idea of celebrating financial leadership in the tech industry and went on to establish the CFO Awards—an enduring tradition that continues to spotlight the strategic and often unsung contributions of CFOs.

A pioneer in technology finance, Devine is widely respected for championing growth-stage companies, mentoring future CFOs, and shaping Northern Virginia's innovation economy. As CFO at Secure Software, he helped define the company's strategic direction, oversaw its financial operations, and successfully managed its acquisition and transition. Earlier in his career, he served as a Partner at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte & Touche, where he played a key role in the Mid-Atlantic technology practice—guiding clients through complex financial and regulatory landscapes. Devine contributed as a board member at Appian Corporation and Martek Biosciences and has given back to the community through his service on the boards of NVTC, the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association, and the Fairfax County Public Schools Education Foundation.

NVTC also celebrated the 2025 Class of Rising Stars, spotlighting emerging talent poised to shape the future of tech finance.

Award recipients were selected by an independent panel of past CFO Awards honorees, recognizing excellence across five distinguished categories.
