NYS Title Economic and Research Committee Launched to Study Free Market Forces That Aid the Role of Real Estate and the State's Title Industry
NEW YORK, July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The New York State Title Economic and Research Committee has been formed by New York Taxpayers for Economic Justice, a group representing a broad coalition of legal, real estate, consumer and free market leadership throughout the state.
A spokesperson for the group, Linda Isaacson, a senior vice president with First American Title Insurance Company, stated, "This committee has been created for the exclusive purpose of examining the role of real estate's impact on state, regional and local economies, what role the Title industry plays in supporting a vibrant real estate industry and how the synergies create jobs, investment and a viable tax base."
The group will draw upon its membership to identify, produce and report on economic data, trends, insight and projections. Companies include Chicago Title Insurance, Fidelity National Financial, Old Republic Title, First American Title Insurance Company, Judicial Title Insurance Agency, LLC, Abstracts, Incorporated, Stewart Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Financial along with associated groups including the Association for a Better Long Island and the Land Use Institute.
Welcoming the effort
Cliff Sondock, of the Land Use Institute, explained, "Too often, lost amidst the countless rules and regulations that seek to define and codify real estate in New York, is the fact that Title is a crucial component of the region's economy. Impede the region's real estate market and you directly harm the economy's ability to grow, create jobs and generate tax revenue for essential government services. This Committee harnesses the insight and vision of a significant industry to provide business and political leaders with a greater understanding for the significant role of a vibrant and unfettered real estate market."
Ms. Isaacson explained, "Our role is not to duplicate the efforts of other real estate organizations but to look at the economy through the unique perspective of a Title industry as we are on the 'front lines' of most real estate transactions. We have our pulse on real estate deals, closings and multibillion dollar investments, providing an accurate barometer of real estate confidence among those who invest in real estate."
The newly formed committee is part of New York Taxpayers for Economic Justice, a coalition of New Yorkers who believes that a strong and robust economy is predicated on a vibrant free market that generates jobs, new economic growth and protects out state's quality of life.
