NEW YORK, Dec. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Irving Siegel, a devoted family man passed away on Tuesday morning, December 17th, in Miami, Florida. He was 82 years old. A devoted family man, he is survived by his wife Diane, five children, and ten grandchildren.
Siegel was born in Brooklyn, NY to parents who immigrated from a village outside of Warsaw, Poland in the late 1930's. The youngest of six children, he was the first of his family to be born in the United States. After serving in the Korean War, Siegel founded the Little Neck Beverage Co. with his father and two brothers.
In 1962, Siegel created Getting To Know You International (GTKY), a direct mail marketing company which helped develop what is today known as data based marketing and analytic marketing. Siegel built GTKY from a one man operation into the largest nationwide new homeowner marketing company. With many large clients, including numerous Fortune 500 companies, GTKY had nearly a thousand employees when they were acquired in 1995 by a NYSE traded company.
In retirement, Mr. Siegel focused on numerous philanthropic endeavors.
