Passenger Car and Light Commercial Vehicle Market showed an increase of 50% in the first quarter of 2015.
Passenger Car Market Increased 42%, Light Commercial Vehicle Market Increased 78%.
Turkish passenger car and light commercial vehicle total market increased 50.29% in the first three months of 2015 compared to the same period of the previous year, to 173,248. In the three-month period of 2014, a total market sales figure of 115,272 was reached.
Passenger car sales went up 42.13% in January-March period of 2015, compared to the same period of the last year, to 126,991. In the same period of 2014, the sales reached 89,347.
In the first quarter of 2015, light commercial vehicle market increased 78.43%, in comparison to the year before, to 46,257. In the same period last year, the sales reached 25,925.
Passenger Car and Light Commercial Vehicle Market showed an increase of 75% in March 2015.

In March 2015 passenger car and light commercial vehicle market reached 83,302. In comparison to the total number of 47,581 in March 2014 in the passenger car and light commercial vehicle market, the sales went up in a ratio of 75.07%.
In March 2015, passenger car sales went up by 63.11% in comparison to the same month of the year before and became 61,676.
Light commercial vehicle market increased 121.37% in March 2015 compared to March 2014, to 21,626.
In the first three-month period of 2015, an increase of 43.54% in the sales of passenger cars below 1600cc and an 18.26% in the sales of passenger cars with a 1600-2000cc engine volume was observed. As for the sales of the passenger cars over 2000cc, an increase of 15.20% was observed. In the first three-month period of 2015, 8 electric cars below 85kW engine power and 13 electric cars above 121 kW engine power were sold.
When the average emission values of the passenger car market in the first three months of 2015 are considered, the passenger cars between 100-120g/km took the largest piece of the pie with a ratio of 42.75% and with a number of 54,288.
In the first three-month period of 2015, diesel passenger car sales decreased in a share of 59.71%, while the automatic transmission passenger cars had a share of 46.77%.
In January-March period of 2015, 83.90% of the passenger car market segment again consisted of the vehicles in the A, B and C segments whose tax ratios are low. When evaluated according to segments, Segment C with a share of 52.19% reached the highest sales volume (66,273). When evaluated according to frame, most preferred body type was again Sedan (47.48%, a quantity of 60,300).

In comparison to the total number of 115,272 in the same period of 2014 in the passenger car and light commercial vehicle market, the sales went down in a ratio of 50.29%.
In March, 2015, passenger car and light commercial vehicle market presented a sales number of 83,302. In comparison to the total number of 47,581 in March 2014 in the passenger car and light commercial vehicle market, the sales went up in a ratio of 75.07%.
Passenger car and light commercial vehicle market, in comparison to the average 10-year March sales, has shown an increase of 42.61%.
In the first three-month period of 2015, passenger car sales went up by 42.13% in comparison to the same period of the year before and became 126,991 in Turkey's automotive market. In the same period last year, the sales reached 89,347.
In March 2015, passenger car sales went up by 63,11% in comparison to the same month of the year before and became 61,676. In March of the last year, the sales reached 37,812.
The passenger car market, in comparison to the average 10-year March sales, has shown an increase of 54.66%.
In January-March period of 2015, light commercial vehicle sales increased 78.43% in comparison to the same period of the last year, to 46,257 in Turkey's automotive market. In the same period last year, the sales reached to 25,925.
Light commercial vehicle market increased 121.37% in March 2015 compared to February of the last year, to 21,626. In March of the last year, the sales reached 9,769.
The light commercial vehicle market, in comparison to the average 10-year March sales, showed an increase of 16.70%.

When January-March period of 2015 passenger car market is studied in terms of engine volume, the biggest slice of the pie was taken by passenger cars under 1600cc with a ratio of 95.41% and a number of 121,164. Passenger cars between 1600 to 2000cc followed them with a ratio of 3.65% and passenger cars above 2000cc with a ratio of 0.93%. In comparison with the same period of 2014, an increase of 43.54% in the sales of passenger cars below 1600cc and 18.26% in the sales of passenger cars with a 1600-2000cc motor volume was observed. As for the sales of the passenger cars over 2000cc, an increase of 15.20% was observed. In the first quarter of 2015, 8 electric cars below 85kW engine power and 13 electric cars above 121 kW engine power were sold.

When the January-March period of 2015 car market is studied in terms of average emission values, passenger cars between 100-120 gr/km have the highest share of 42.75% (54,288) and following this, passenger cars between 120-140 gr/km have a share of 28.87% (36,665).

Diesel passenger car sales in January-March period of 2015 increased 36.14% in comparison to the same period last year. Diesel share in passenger car sales in the first quarter of 2015, when compared to the same period of 2014, has decreased from 62.34% to 59.71% (75,825).

In 2015 January-March period, automatic transmission passenger car sales numbers, in comparison to the same period in 2014, increased 49.38%. In 2015, automatic transmission passenger car sale shares in the first three months, in comparison to last year, increased from 44.50% to 46.77% (a number of 59,390).

In January-March period of 2015, 83.90% of the passenger car market segment again consisted of the vehicles in the A, B and C segments whose tax ratios are low. When evaluated according to segments, Segment C with a share of 52.19% has the highest sales volume (66,273) and Segment B follows it with a share of 30.89% (39,224).
In January-March period of 2015, when evaluated according to frame, most preferred body type was again Sedan (47.48%, a quantity of 60,300). Following Sedan passenger cars, Hatchback frame with a share of 33.27% and a sales volume of 42,251 and SUV with a share of 12.90% and total sales volume of 16,382.

According to January 2015 estimations of IMF World Economic Outlook Report, 2015&2016 growth rate estimations for the World is 3.5% and 3.7%, respectively. The report suggests that 2015 and 2016 growth rates of the U.S., pacemaker of the world economy will be 3.6% and 3.3% respectively. It is also estimated that Europe which is extremely important place for the Turkish automotive exports will increase 1.2% in 2015 and 1.4% in 2016.
LMC Automotive, by 2014, 4th quarter has published 2014 results and World passenger car market estimations for 2015. According to the 4th quarter results, 2014 World total passenger car market showed an increase of 2.6% in comparison to the last year and reached a number of 89.9 M. In 2015, World automotive market is expected to show an increase of 3.2% and reach a number of 92.8 M in comparison to the last year.
LMC Automotive, by 2014, 4th quarter has published 2014 results and World automotive manufacture estimations for 2015. According to the 4th quarter results of LMC Automotive, 2014 World automotive manufacture showed an increase of 2.0% in comparison to the last year and reached a number of 90.1 M. In 2015, World automotive manufacture is expected to show an increase of 3.7% and reach a number of 93.4 M in comparison to the last year.
According to the Medium Term Program published in October 2014, Turkey's growth rate is expected to be around 3.3% in 2014, 4.0% in 2015 and 5.0% in 2016.
We foresee that the automotive industry's total market for the year 2015 to be between 825 and 875 thousand in quantity.
